{"id":78,"date":"2025-05-23T03:06:05","date_gmt":"2025-05-23T03:06:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/?page_id=78"},"modified":"2025-06-27T18:03:07","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T18:03:07","slug":"the-gospel","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/the-gospel\/","title":{"rendered":"The Gospel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>If you have never trusted in Jesus Christ as your Redeemer, would you consider the following for just a moment?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Bible indicates that all of us are sinful and in need of spiritual transformation.&nbsp;<em>&#8220;For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>(Romans 3:23)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The result of our sin is spiritual death, eternal separation from God.&nbsp;<em>&#8220;For the wages of sin is death.&#8221;<\/em>&nbsp;(Romans 6:23)<em>&nbsp; &#8220;And you were dead in your trespasses and sins.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em>(Ephesians 2:1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;But God has provided eternal life as a free gift for His people.&nbsp;<em>&#8220;&#8230;but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em>(Romans 6:23)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This gift of eternal life cannot be appropriated through our own sense of goodness or through any work of our own.<em>&nbsp; &#8220;For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp; (Ephesians 2:8-9)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This gift is given on the basis of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.<em>&nbsp;&#8220;But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>(Romans 5:8)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Therefore, the gift of eternal life is appropriated only through saving faith in Jesus Christ alone.<em>&nbsp; &#8220;Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, you and your household.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>(Acts 16:31)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Such faith includes the need for repentance in humility before God.<em>&nbsp;&#8220;Repent and believe in the gospel.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>(Mark 1:15)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;With such repentance and faith, eternal life and the forgiveness of sins is yours.<em>&nbsp;&#8220;Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>(Romans 5:1)<em>&nbsp;&#8220;There is now therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp; (Romans 8:1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0<br>Today, won&#8217;t you repent of your sins, believe the gospel of Jesus Christ and be redeemed!<br>\u00a0<br>Please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/contact-us\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"62\">contact us<\/a>\u00a0and, by God&#8217;s grace, we can help you grow in your faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have never trusted in Jesus Christ as your Redeemer, would you consider the following for just a moment? \u00a0Today, won&#8217;t you repent of your sins, believe the gospel&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":106,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-78","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/78","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=78"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/78\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":247,"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/78\/revisions\/247"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/106"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pbpcnm.org\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=78"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
